This award-winning beach is another hit with visitors and locals alike. Situated around the coast from Mumbles and Langland Bay, Caswell Bay can be reached by foot along a coastal path that joins the three together. The bay sits comfortable between two stunning rocky headlands, with woods above adding to the fantastic scenery. The beach itself a wealth of golden sand and is popular with families, with some fantastic rock pools.
The bay gets good surf and as Surf GSD instructor Simon Jayham said of Caswell Bay, "It is the best place to teach people to surf anywhere in the world." With several kiosks and cafes, there's plenty of opportunity to fuel-up, enjoy an ice-cream and buy that obligatory bucket and spade. The Surfside Cafe is a fantastic establishment regardless of its location, with sofa and wood burner, bookshelf, and plenty of chairs and tables. They have a great menu of sandwiches, ciabattas and paninis, cakes, cream tea and coffee options.
Caswell has it's own car park just across the road from the beach, which fills up quickly in the summer. Alternative parking can be found nearby at Bishop's Wood, but during holiday season walking may be easier! Car park charges apply between May and September. Public toilets are situated near the car park.
